User guides: Getting the best from your Harbeth loudspeakers
It's really easy to set-up and get the best from your Harbeth speakers using your existing hi-fi system; we've designed them to work straight out of their cartons and with an easy electrical load they'll work with just about any amplifier. If they've come in from a cold delivery truck, unpack them (watch out for the carton staples) and let them acclimatise to room temperature over an hour or so. That's the time to check the simple instructions in the User Guide about stands and speaker wire and to collect together all and every recording you treasure. The more you 'throw at' your Harbeth's the more amazed you will be with their clarity. Probably a good idea to clear your diary for the next couple of days: you're going to be completely lost to music! For the first time in your life you are going to hear sound with the woolen blanket lifted off your system, and 'standing at the microphones' makes the hairs on your neck tingle - as you'll find out for yourself. The Harbeth User Guide (shown below) covers the basics of positioning and connection in simple, non-technical language.

Please do take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions page as this contains additional information that expands on the User Guide. If you have experimented and achieved good results in an unusual room then please do tell us and we'll make it available to other users.

Also, if you are curious about the technology behind loudspeakers and what to listen for, take a look at Designer's Notebook, in particular Chapter 7: The curtain of sound.

When you step-up to the Harbeth family you have access to thousands of serious listeners like yourself through the User Group. Make use of their skills and knowledge!
